A 2-year-old and two 7-year-old girls were flown to the hospital after a large amount of snow slid off a roof and buried them. So much snow slid from the roof that it took over 30 minutes to locate the girls.

All three children were unconscious when found. The two 7-year-olds were revived on scene and the 2-year-old was revived in the medical helicopter.

The ‘freak accident’ occurred outside a cabin in the Mack’s Inn area around 5:30 p.m. on Friday in Island Park, Idaho.

“This was a freak accident,” Humphries tells EastIdahoNews.com. “It was heart wrenching for the dispatchers and EMTs and firemen and everyone who responded. Our prayers are with the kids and their families.”

Names of the children have not been released.
