Interesting new piece of technology released at the 2015 Meteorological Technology World Expo by NESA, a weather monitoring company out of Italy. The CEO, Pierluigi Bassetto, explains that snow temperature profiler can accurately measure snow temperatures at different depths allowing for avalanche risk to be assessed. The 2.5 meter pole features 12 temperature sensors that monitor small variations of temperature between points.
