Approximately 10 miles east of Beaver Creek lies the town of Minturn, Colorado. Once known as a small mining community, the town that is often a pit stop for destination skiers on their way to Beaver Creek Ski Resort is becoming world-famous. However, it’s not the town’s proximity to world-renowned ski resorts such as Vail and Beaver Creek that’s making the small town famous.

Recently Minturn was entered into a contest that ranks the best public bathroom in the USA and as of Nov. 2nd, it’s official.

Minturn has the best public restroom in The United States!

The contest titled ‘America’s Best Restroom Contest’ is in its 14th year and this year the trophy is coming to Colorado. The bathrooms themselves retain a modern aesthetic that combines new school architecture with old school materials. Copper and wood were the main materials used in construction of the bathrooms, which is a physical tribute to the town’s mining history.

According to the Denver Post, Mayor Hawkeye Flaherty was more than pleased, saying “It is great to be recognized as the No. 1 town in the No. 2 business and have the finest public restrooms in the country.”
