On Sunday, NOAA upgraded the current storm hitting California and it seems as though they were right on the money. As of now it’s dumping across eastern California, with a particular focus on the eastern Sierra. Currently, Mammoth Mountain is reporting 10” of fresh, while Kirkwood is reporting 18” on the summit.

Here is the Kirkwood Report Courtesy of Coop:

Buenos Dias mis amigos,   Cup’O’Joe with 14″ of new snow @the base elevation of 7800′ – 16″ @the top of Solitude, Chair 5 with 18″ around the summit with more snow in the forecast through mid-day and through the night… ‪#‎StokeLevel‬ is officially @11.5 as I hit the mtn to grab a little footage of the blessing ‪#‎MotherNature‬has delivered overnight here @KirkwoodMtn

NWS forecast as of 0347 – Snow will increase in the northern Sierra this afternoon and continue into this evening with periods of heavy snow possible along with considerable travel delays crossing the passes. By the time the storm wraps up on Tuesday, additional accumulations of 4-8 inches will be possible with 12-16 inches along the crest.

By comparison last November we only received 18″ of ‪#‎MaNatural‬ and to date this we have been blessed with 33″

Snow making operations will continue as we prep for our opening day here my friends…

Stay Tuned & Stay Thirsty, Coop
