At 2:30pm on Sunday June 14, Arapahoe Basin will close for the remainder of the summer… at least that’s what we’re told.

Since April 16th, The Basin has received 84 inches of new snow with 50 of those inches falling in May. The new snowfall ultimately lead to resort officials extending the season through the upcoming weekend.

Conditions Report:

On Sunday, skiing at the Basin was smooth and corny with Black Mountain Express and Lewanee Mountain Lifts open for business. The upper mountain remained in hard pack conditions until approximately 10:30am, which is when the sun got to the snow in a quick way. On the other hand, lower elevation terrain under Black Mountain Express started as corn and ended with isothermal conditions. While, conditions are often pretty sloppy by 1:30pm, the amount of snow has receded to bed surface (man-made) consistency, which offers pretty awesome turns all day long or until 2:30pm, when the lifts close anyway.

So get up to Arapahoe Basin for one last weekend of lift served fun before you resort to bushwhacking for those July, August, and September turns.
