Treble Cone Ski Resort Set For Wall-to-Wall Opening

tcone 1

After receiving immense early season snowfall and followed by cold temps, Treble Cone is preparing for a wall-to-wall opening on Thursday. Currently, the Wanaka club field has a base area snow depth of 116cm at 1750m (5,740 ft), while the Saddle Basin snow depth is 161cm at 1960m (6,430 ft). So as long as winds don’t get unruly (which they tend to in New Zealand), the entire resort should be open later this week.

Here is the post from the Treble Cone Facebook page:

“In BIG news… Treble Cone Ski Area is looking likely to have all terrain open for Opening Day this Thursday including the Home and Saddle Basins, the Summit Slopes, and the expert only Motatapu Chutes and Hollywood Bowl (weather permitting).”
