New Zealand Enjoys Epic Conditions | 4 Feet of New Snow!

YouTube Poster

New Zealand’s ski season is off and running. Conditions are fantastic following a hammering by a winter storm that dropped as much as 4 feet of snow on the mountains. Coronet Peak and Cardrona were open today and the skiing looks pretty darn good. Mt. Hutt received 120cms of snow from the winter weather system, but had to close today due to avalanches and fallout from the big winter storm.

Treble Cone picked up 65cms (26″) of snow and are set to open for the season next Thursday.

Official update from Treble Cone Ski Area: “It was a morning of shoveling and pushing snow at Treble Cone Ski Area today, with 65cm of new snow at the top of the Home Basin, 55cm in the Saddle Basin, and 38cm down at the Base Building. Treble Cone is on track to officially open next Thursday!”
