Avalanche + Beers + Uncontrolled Urination = SURVIVAL!

In January 2005, Slovakian Richard Kral was found hammered and staggering down a mountain path 4 days after he’d been trapped by an avalanche.

Richard was driving through the Tatra Mountains of Slovakia when his Audi was hit and trapped by an avalanche. Richie was on vacation, so naturally, he had 60 beers in the car to aid with said vacation.

Richard drank the 60 beers and peed his way out of the avalanche debris… How?  Hear it from the horses mouth:

What Richard said about the incident:

“I was scooping the snow from above me and packing it down below the window, and then I peed on it to melt it. It was hard and now my kidneys and liver hurt. But I’m glad the beer I took on holiday turned out to be useful and I managed to get out of there.”

There you have it.  Next time you travel in Avalanche Terrain, make sure you have AT LEAST 60 beers with you.

Europe had a huge winter in 2005 and especially in January when some places were registering more than ten feet of snow in 24 hours.
