British ski instructor, Simon Butler, stands accused of teaching skiing without the correct qualifications at a ski resort in the French Alps. If found guilty Butler could faces 8 months in prison and a €10,000 fine.

On Monday Butler’s verdict will be handed down in a courtroom in Bonneville, France.

Mr Butler and 6 other British instructors who worked for the company, Simon Butler Skiing, were arrested while teaching on the slopes of Megeve back in February. They were accused of teaching without the correct qualifications for teaching skiing in France.

“It has been a horrible, horrible past few months and the stress has caused me problems in my personal and business life.  Hopefully I will not be taken downstairs to the cells and put in jail but I have absolutely no idea what will happen,” he said.
