Yosemite National Park - Half Dome

The name “Half Dome” is misleading. The view from Glacier Point (left) makes it look like half a dome, but the view from nearby Washburn Point (right) makes it clear that most (perhaps 80%) of the dome is still there. The steep north face of Half Dome is a result of easy erosion along a regional crack.
