Gore Trail Map 2011

Gore Mountain, New York

Gore Mountain is a fantastic state run ski area in the Adirondack mountains of New York. You might hear “state run resort” and think it’s some budget ski area with no desirable amenities such as high-speed quads, gondolas or snowmaking but you would be dead wrong. Gore might not have a 5 star lodge at it’s base but the ski experience is on par with any of the high price ski resorts in the east. Recent terrain expansions have opened up vast amounts of prime east coast glades making this gem shine even brighter.

Stats:

  • Lifts: 15
  • Terrain: 444 ac
  • Vertical Feet: 2537′

Bridger Bowl, Montana

Bridger Bowl Ski Area has two magical ingredients that other resorts can’t buy. 1) Fluffy “cold smoke” powder snow. 2) Extreme terrain. Located just outside Bozeman, Montana Bridger has kept it’s small town feel. During the week crowds are virtually nonexistent. The few skiers and riders you will spot on the hill are often found making the 20-minute hike to “The Ridge”, an area of endless steep chutes and open powder fields.

Mt Rose Trail Map

Mt. Rose, Nevada

Skiing, in Nevada? Believe it or not some of the best skiing in America can be found just outside Reno, NV at Mt. Rose Ski Area. The skiing at Mt. Rose was nothing extraordinary until the 2003-2004 ski season when the resort opened the Chutes. At 1500 vertical feet of 55 degree pitch The Chutes are arguably the best terrain in Tahoe. This is no joke terrain accessed by a number of gates on a ridge below two high speed lifts. The terrain is visible from downtown Reno and can be reach in just 25 minutes by a taxi ride from the Reno Airport.

Stats:

  • Lifts: 8
  • Terrain: 1200 ac
  • Vertical Feet: 1,800
