The Kalamazoo Gazette is reporting that Bittersweet Ski Resort, Timber Ridge and Swiss Valley Ski & Snowboard Area are closed today due to extreme cold. Temperatures are expected to plummet into the -20s with the wind chill factor. In a statement on its website, Bittersweet Ski Resort in Allegan County said the cold was behind the decision to close. Swiss Valley Ski & Snowboard Area is located in Cass County, and it says an area ban on non-essential or non-emergency travel was behind the decision.
