(Jean-Luc Brassards run starts at 2:55)
Jean-Luc Brassard (born August 24, 1972) is one smooth cat. Incase you forgot or are too young to remember, the French Canadian (born in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec) freestyle skier won gold at the 1994 Winter Olympics in the sport’s debut as a medal event. Brassard has been credited with popularizing the wearing of bright knee pads and being totally radical.
In his other Olympic appearances, Brassard placed 7th when the event was a demonstration sport in 1992, 4th in 1998 and 21st in 2002. It was recently announced that Jean-Luc Brassard is to be inducted into Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame.
