10 Day Powder Forecast [Powderchasers.com]

Powderchasers.comModerate snow fell across the Tetons, Wasatch and most of northern and central Colorado (5-10 inches) early this week. Some reports indicated as much as 16 inches near Grand Targhee in the past 10 days.   A secondary low formed last night in the San Juan’s of Colorado providing light to  moderate amounts (Wolf Creek)..

The next 10 days will regress to a more fall like pattern with moderating temperatures and a few week disturbances.  This weekend stands the best chance of a teaser storm that drops down from interior BC through Montana, Wyoming and northern Colorado.  Don’t expect more than 4-6 inches in most locations and even less along I-70 and southern Colorado.  Long range models show a larger storm possible by next weekend (Day 10) in the Rockies.  The Pacific Northwest looks active during the week of Halloween after a benign weather pattern for the next 10 days.

Keep the snow dance going, as ultimately it is still too soon to predict long range winter trends. Thus far, I am liking the Northern Rockies but that could change as we get into Winter.
