The 21-year old climber, Gaëlle Cavalié, was rescued over the weekend after spending 4 days in a snow hole. Cavalié was reported missing by her family when she failed to return from a trip to the Aiguille Verte.
A strong weather system that moved into the area on Tuesday forced Cavalié to seek cover in a snow hole. She was found 4 days later by a helicopter search team. Authorities say that she is lucky to be alive.
Cavalié is now recovering in hospital in Sallanches.
