An avalanche was triggered this morning at around 10:40am in Verbier. It is being reported that the avalanche occurred on the Bec des Etagnes, between Mont-Fort and Lake Cleuson. Four people were injured in the slide, two critically.

The wind slab avalanche struck a group of six riders, all of Swiss origin and aged between 15 and 55 years, as they boot packed up the Bec des Etagnes.

Two hikers were partially buried, the other four completely. rescue workers arrived on the scene quickly and transported two of the skiers to a hospital in Martigny. The other two who were injured were transported to Zion.
