HEAVY snow as we mentioned last week is moving into southern coastal New England tonight and will bring areas near the coast significant snow by Tuesday afternoon.  Radar is showing a heavy band of snow over Rhode island as of 9:40 PM EST.  Expect storm skiing on Tuesday at Gunstock in southern New Hampshire (5-10) and lesser amounts as you move north or inland. Sunday River and areas inland from the coast might see 4-8.  Vermont and inland New Hampshire will see lighter amounts.  If you can find some mountains along the coast (How about Kittery) you will see some higher snow totals. Wachusett Mountain and Neshoba Valley will do very well with this storm!

The West will see a pattern change beginning Wednesday in the Northwest and eventually moderate snow in the Rockies by late in the weekend.  The Northwest stays active with increasing moisture towards the middle to end of the month. Updates on this new storm as it develops will be posted on the webpage.  Some models show decent moisture for 2-3 days over the Wasatch and perhaps the Tetons beginning late on Saturday.  My confidence is high for moderate snow however not ready to pull the cards on a powder alert just yet.

THE CHASE?

Tuesday: Gunstock Mountain – 3-5 on opening and an additional 3-5 during the day

Sunday-Monday– Stay tuned for the Rockies update (Most likely the Wasatch or 4 corners).
