Back in 2010 a crew from Unofficial Networks were the first skiers to heli ski on the African Continent. Now, Heliski Marrakech, is booking heli-ski trips into the Atlas Mountains from their base in Morocco. Heliski Marrakech has a main “lodge” (its more like a compound) outside Marrakech where you can tan by the pool then hop in a heli to head up to the Atlas Mountains (highest peak, Jebel Toubkal, 4167m). We should warn you that this is not your typical heliski operation. Because of air restrictions in Morocco Heliski Marrakech can only utilized a handful of well defined LZ’s and PZ’s.

Skiing the Atlas Mountains of Africa is most akin to skiing the Andes Mountains of South America.

When your done burning Jet-A fuel you can round out your trip at the ski resort of Oukaimeden, 65km south of Marrakesh and the home to Africa’s highest ski lift at 3258m.
