So you want to go skiing? It’s only October but a number of ski resorts have already started to spin chairlifts and are opening for 2012 -2013 season. Here is a list of ski resorts that have already opened (or are soon to be open) for the 2012 -2013 winter ski season.

Squaw Valley Opening Day
Arapahoe Basin: OPEN
Wild Mountain: OPEN (only on select days)
Squaw Valley: OPEN Today – (one day opening)
Boreal: Friday, 26th October (9am to 9pm)
Heavenly: Friday, November 16, 2012.
Copper Mountain: Friday November 2nd, 2012
Timberline: Saturday, 27th October
Killington: Friday, November 2nd, 2012 *Killington already held a one day opening
Sunday River: Friday, November 2nd, 2012

Tignes: OPEN – Tirnes is the only ski area currently open in France. (40cm base) *Six lifts
Les Deux Alpes glacier: Will be Open from October 27 till November 4th 2012.
Solden: OPEN with nearly 30km of runs and a 42cm snow base.
Hintertux: OPEN with 41km of slopes open, 14 lifts running and a 590m vertical.
Kitzsteinhorn glacier at Kaprun: OPEN
Passo Stelvio: OPEN
Val Senales: OPEN
Cervinia: Has Been Open on Weekends. Full Opening on October 27th.
Diavolezza glacier : OPEN
Titlis Glacier: OPEN
Saas Fee: OPEN
