Cairngorm Mountain is experiencing the best conditions of the whole season on the top half of the mountain, and snow keeps on falling, in May!. It really is quite remarkable and it is looking promising for June skiing, not only incredibly rare in Scotland but something that no one would have expected back in February when all 5 Scottish resorts were forced to close their doors due to no snow. In fact about 4 weeks ago the same runs that have a great depth of snow on them now (~1m is alot for us) were down to bare grass. An epic effort from Cairngorm Mtn staff to get reopened after sending all their seasonal staff home in March. Great vibes on the Mountain plus sunshine and incredible views across almost the entire country reminds me why theres something special about Scottish snow. Unfortunately Cairngorm Mtn was the only area to get a useful amount of snow to run lifts, however Glencoe Mtn and Nevis Range/Ben Nevis have offered great sport for those willing to hike.
Goes to show that Scottish weather is sometimes unpredictable for the better.

Thanks Cammy
