Looking for a last-minute reason to make a last-minute trip up to the slopes this weekend? How about Mammoth Springfest 2012? Yes, it’s definitely spring and yes, Mammoth is not short on events and activities this weekend.

For one, even in light of the fact that Mammoth has received its lowest snowfall total in decades, coverage is excellent and the spring corn is in full effect. And with deep blue skies and warm temps in force now’s the time to beach-it in the mountains.

It’s the 3rd week of April and that means it’s time for the Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam Tour Finals. Saturday top snowboard jib talent will be throwing down for some serious cash prizes at Main Lodge.

Want to shred South Park one last time this season? If you don't plan to enter this comp then you best get to it before Sunday.

The Active Bro-Down Showdown hits South Park on Sunday. This snowboard slopestyle comp is sure to entertain as riders have 45 minutes to lay down their slickest run and dopest trick in the name of bragging rights and cash prizes.

What would a festive spring weekend like this be without some live musical entertainment? The celebrated indie electronic rock band NEON INDIAN plays the Hyde lounge Sunday evening, helping to close out the weekend with a kick.

And what would a SpringFest weekend be without the classic Canyon Lodge Pond Skim and Party? Rain (from the skies or the pond) or shine, this event is always a crowd pleaser. Get your costume out and get signed up early because pond skim participant slots go quick. The pond is long (110 ft), the water’s cold and the spectators are in for a good show – 2pm on Sunday is when the fun begins.
