Unofficial hat gear review

Unofficial hat gear review

Rare items are sought after and often expensive. The Unofficial Networks pom-pom beanie is rare, YES, and sought after, CERTAINLY. Expensive? Not yet.

Unofficial hat gear review

This is simply a fantastic item of clothing. Not only does it connect you with the social movement that is Unofficial Networks, but it also keeps your noggin warm, shows you probably care somewhat about skiing, and is a great ice-breaker/pickup line.

The Unofficial beanie is of unknown origin to most, only immediately traceable to China, and was most likely acquired by its owners at a GNAR premier, party, or through a friend. Because this hat is not sold, it draws attention when seen. People who know what it is will strike up a conversation (or punch you in the face), while others are intrigued by the brilliant color schemes and ‘Unofficial’ banner that conjures notions of anti-establishment and individualism. The hats can be found in green/black, brown/more brown, white/black, and pink/grey colors and the pom-pom is often removed for personal comfort or to wear it under a helmet.

Art of Flight
Jeremy Jones in the Art of Flight

The Unofficial beanie’s claim to fame is on Jeremy Jones’ head throughout his interview in The Art of Flight (an obscure amateur snowboard film). But all of that aside, it is still a fantastic hat to wear. It does what is asked of any hat and it looks good in the process. What more can you expect?

So, keep your eyes open and be ready to seize your next opportunity to own one of these coveted Unofficial beanies. Attend any event sponsored or connected to Unofficial Networks, stalk your local Unofficial reporter, or figure out where they are made and let me know so we can get some more.

looks good every time
