You got to hand it to Squaw Valley today. Not only did they open at 9am they got upper mountain and all the major chairs (except for Silverado) OPEN before 10AM.  BIG Thank You to Patrol, the Lifts, Mike Livak and everyone who made this happen!

Conditions were killer with 15-23 inches of new snow. It appears that most bay area skiers have hung their skis up for the season. Yesterday (VIDEO FROM YESTERDAY AT SQUAW) and today was for the most part a locals only affair.

Weekend Weather Outlook 

Tonight: Snow showers likely, mainly before 11pm. Cloudy, with a low around 21. West wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Saturday: A 50 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 38. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 25. North wind around 10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west.
