The Winter Dew Tour is kicking off thier 2011-2012 season right now at Breckenridge. Qualifiers are done and events are underway with finals and a few semifinals still to go. Here’s some footage of Athletes lapping the superpipe and slopestyle course.

Yup, they’ve got a remote controlled helicam filming these guys. The footage you can capture with these tiny choppers is incredible. No strings attached. The small size allows the pilots to fly right down on top of the venue at athlete level without having to worry about the rotor wash disturbing the competitors or chopping someone’s head off. But then again, you can fly them so low there’s always the chance of interference. It would be terrible (but great footage) if someone jumped into the “toy” chopper. The remote control Heli’s can still be pretty powerful for their size, maybe just a tail tap…
