Despite the (nearly) complete lack of new snow, Jackson still continues to ski and ride well. The mountain is doing all it can to get new terrain open but, when it comes down to it, much of the mountain is at the mercy of mother nature. Sublette continues to be open on the weekends and the cirque was even open this weekend for some-what feshies. There’s rumors of The Headwall opening, but that remains to be seen. Sure, it’s not the opening we had last year, but the groomers are skiing well and there are plenty of jump lines out there- even if they’re a little sketchy.

On-piste, A.V. continues to be the best bet. Casper was skiing well up until late last week, but the bottom part has now gotten so thin it’s impossible to miss all the floaters out there. If you’re itching to take out anything new, A.V. is where it’s at

Off-piste, pretty much anything off of Thunder  will do the trick- although the more northern and east facing aspects are a little more chalky as opposed to the re-frozen southern aspects. There’s some fun high-speed airs out there…even if they’re a little sketchy. Hopefully, with some luck, we’ll get The Headwall this weekend. Overall, the skiing’s great and it’s a good time of year to get your legs back.
