That’s what they claim, so I figured that I’m a ski bum, my lifestyle is a serious threat to my iPhone, why not test it out?
LIFEPROOF SKI-BUM TEST:
First I tossed it in the snow (what little of it we have around here).
Then I jammed it in the dirt (this was the hardest test to do with my nice new phone)
After that treatment it was disgusting. There was only thing left to do, which was wash it off and completely submerge it in water.
After all that, the phone came out sparkling clean and working fine.
Then I dropped it from 6 feet high onto cement. The photos didn’t work out well, but here is a video where Dusty does it for me:
The real genius to this LifeProof case is that texting, using the internet, taking pictures, and making calls still works great. You can even listen to music on it right through the case. I don’t understand how sound gets through, but water and dirt don’t.
The case isn’t bulky, it only adds 1/16” to the depth of the phone. Same as “normal” cases.
The only ski bum test left to try is the beer test. Which I’m assuming it’ll pass if it can be submerged in water, but I think I’ll still try it.
