Tomorrow is opening Day for Whistler Blackcomb and boy is the anticipation at an all time high in Vancouver/Whistler. I mean today alone I heard two different groups talking about opening day. And in a city filled with _ thats pretty dam good.
If your planing a trip to Whistler this weekend you can expect three things.
Slow Driving
The Sea to Sky Highway, apparently the second most dangerous highway in the world, will be slow and possibly have winter conditions. It is winter people. Come on and buy some snow tires, it snows in Canada.
Long Lift Lines
The Whistler Village Gondola & the Creekside Gondola will be open as well as Emerald Chair, Red Chair, and Franz’s Chair. They will all have very, very, very long lines.
Lots of Powder
This video was shot on yep, you guessed it, the GoPro HD Hero Helmet Camera. It was shot on Jakes noodle during the First week of December 2010 (last year) on Blackcomb. Lets we get the same results this year.
You can expect to see:
Lots of Gapers
The gapers from Vancouver usually come out in full swing for opening weekend. The nubes in Vancouver spread the buzz about “whistler weekends.” Girls and girlfriends can be heard discussing where on the mountain they are going to eat (not ski), and there is talk of winter everywhere around the city. In turn drawing the gapers to Whistler.
Lots of Bro Bra’s
