Miraculously, this man did survive. Not sure why anyone would try to fly a wingsuit from this altitude. Even the best pilots need about 5-6 seconds of freefall before a suit will begin to track. At 5-6 seconds of freefall you are fast approaching 600 ft of vertical distance traveled. This bridge was only 900 ft high. Wingsuit BASE Jumper Pulls Late | Not Recommended | Unofficial Networks

Miraculously, this man survived. Not sure why anyone would try to fly a wingsuit from this altitude. Even the best pilots need about 5-6 seconds of freefall before a suit will begin to track properly. After 5-6 seconds of freefall you are fast approaching 600 ft of vertical distance traveled. This bridge was only 900 ft high.

The jumper, Christopher Brewer of Pensacola Florida, was one of 400 BASE jumpers who participated in the 32nd annual Bridge Day event on Saturday 10/15, the only day of the year when you can legally jump from the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville, West Virginia.

Brewer suffered a pelvic fracture, lung injuries, and a spine injury according to the Register Herald. Luckily, he is alive.
