The talk has been going around all week. The hype has been building about the first good dump of the year and it looks like it was not overblown. There were a ton of surprised people today when it actually snowed in Salt Lake! These photos are all from my place in Cottonwood Heights around 11:00am this morning. The first snow in Salt Lake City of the year always pumps people up and reminds us why we moved here.
The Collins Mid Mountain weather station is reporting 13 inches so far and the forecast is calling for up to another foot of snow by tomorrow morning. I know where I am going to be at about 7:00am. It could be a full blown pow day if you know how to dodge those pesky rocks. Turn on you RAR (Rock Avoiding Radar) and go get after it! I have a feeling the Wildcat Parking lot is going to be a little more full than it has been in a while.
No one can argue that the first tracks of this season we be thrown down today and tomorrow at Alta. The only question is whether this will be a quick hitter before another warm up, or if the Winter has arrived today and will be here through next May or so? I for one am going with “Game On!” Bring on the Winter!!!
