With summer unofficially over, the party scene has calmed down a little bit. Which is good, considering the bender that will be next weekend’s TGR premier. This weekend, is a bit more civilized, cultural, and well mannered. Between the kickoff of the Fall Arts Festival and charity runs, this might be the weekend your moral conscience has been asking for all summer. So, take it easy, be civilized, and, who knows, maybe you wont hate yourself come Monday morning.

PALATES & PALETTES- FRIDAY, 5PM; AROUND JACKSON. FREE

More than 30 galleries around Jackson will combine their artist’s work with food, wine and music. Even if you’re not into art, it’s a great time to cruise around town and people watch. This event is combined with art openings at the various galleries around town including Tayloe Piggott Gallery, Heather James Fine Art, and Sheila Norgate Beaks & Muzz.

OLD BILL’S FUN RUN- SATURDAY 10AM; JACKSON TOWN SQUARE. FREE

Over the last 14 years, Old Bill’s Fun Run has raised over $75 Million for charities. That’s pretty mind-blowing. But don’t worry, money is solicited through businesses, and participation is free. So get out there, and feel good about yourself and your community.

FARMER’S MARKET- SATURDAY 8AM; TOWN SQUARE. FREE

What could go better with your physical and moral cleansing than some fresh, local produce. There are only a few more Farmer’s Markets left, so take advantage of some delicious, locally grown goods. Plus, this will set you up perfectly for Old Bill’s Fun Run.

SPUD’S & SUDS- SATURDAY 11AM; GRAND TARGHEE RESORT

Okay, so maybe you can find a little trouble over in the Teton Valley this weekend, but it will be family oriented. Spud’s and Suds is a mix of music, beer, and the last bit of summer fun. From disc golf to mountain biking, get your last fix of warm temps before the cold temps set in.

TASTE OF THE TETONS- SUNDAY 11AM; TOWN SQUARE. $1 PER TASTE TICKET

What better way to end the weekend then sampling some of Jackson’s finest foods prepared by some of the best restaurants in Jackson? Finally (at least taste) some of the food that you’ve always wanted to, on the cheap. If nothing else it’s a good warm up for fall slack specials.
