Slash Turn

Bitterly cold overnight lows and hanging clouds for the past few days combined to generate some of the sickest conditions in La  Laguna.  Six inches of blower, light, rimed-over snow on top of almost 2 feet of hero snow made for some of the best snow of my life. The snow was so dry and light, if it were possible to ski these same runs everyday for the rest of your life, you would want to do just that. Even long time Bariloche veteran Miles Clark attests:

“I’ve been in Bariloche for 3 summers and this is the best snow I’ve ever seen La Laguna and the most filled in I’ve seen it.”

Mountain Poking through the Fog
Fog creeping too and fro

With cold temps for the next couple of days and a storm lurking in the extended forecast things should continue to roll right along in Bariloche. Yesterday was the first day you were actually able to ski all the way to the bottom without inflicting to much damage to your beloved skis (tools not jewels is certainly a saying to live by in Patagonia).
