SonReal is no longer underground. Originally from Vernon BC, and now hailing out of Vancity, Aaron Hoffman is making his mark in the Hip Hop scene across the country. His tracks are tight, working with some of the hottest producers and in Canada including Classified, Rich Kidd, and Vokab. He also worked with the late Nate Dogg on a track. I recently caught up with him and DJ Rich-A at the Long Horn Saloon and took in his high energy set.
SonReal is definitely one of those guys that will set his sights on what he wants, and then does whatever it takes to get it. He’s worked closely with a number of ski films along the way including Level 1 Productions and Voleurz, which were instrumental to some of his early exposure and success. Considering he’s in his early 20’s, I’d like to say that he’s done very well for himself at this point in his career, and it’s only sign of things to come. He’s been getting tons of hype on Hip Hop blogs, and his videos are in rotation on the Much Music countdown.
