squaw valley may 2011 spring skiing

So…the world didn’t end today, but it did put forth a great ski day at Squaw.  Headwall had electrical problems this morning so it was closed.  Then, Squaws avy experts decided that the wet slide potential was too high to open Headwall after 11am.  No matter, KT was damn fun.

The “boyz” (literally boys at 9, 10, & 11) were charging hard throwing 360s, hucking cliffs, and generally causing their own form of extremely entertaining mayhem.

Headwall should open right away tomorrow morning at 9am and be pretty fun.  The weather tomorrow is still forecasted  to be partly cloudy, have a high of 55F, and  a 40% chance of precipitation.  Last night we didn’t get a hard freeze and the snow was pretty sloppy right away.  Tomorrow, we’ll experience similar conditions as the low is only forecasted at 30F.
