My roommate Robert and I ventured up to Hellgate with a crew yesterday to check out how the sport climbing was looking with a 180 base still at Alta. It was not all that surprisingly awesome! We had to stick to the far lookers right of Greg Martinez’s Melting Mud Wall to avoid avalanche hazards from above and some running water on the rock. Aside from some rockfall dodging it was a really fun and relaxing day of spring climbing. One of the highlights of the day was watching everyone slide back down to the road on the tarps we brought with us. Give it a try when you get a chance.
