What the HELL to do in Whistler this Week?

Well for starters it’s Whistler and Whistler is AWESOME! This time of year Whistler Blackcomb becomes divided, there is decent “winter” skiing at the peak and full on “slush’ puppies at the bottom. It’s really fun you can ski big lines in the morning and hit slushy park in the afternoon. To be in Whistler for the month of April is…. F*n good! You have great skiing, and even better touring. Good snow up high and spring skiing down low, pluse the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival comes to town! As they say: “sleep in May”

Friday-Sunday, April 1-3 –Provincial Championship. moguls, slopestyle, and halfpipe competition. Whistler Mountain. The Whistler Blackcomb Freestyle Club is playing host to the province this weekend with four days of provincial championship competition. Friday is moguls, Saturday is the slopestyle and Sunday is head-to-head duel moguls. All events start at 10am and take place on Whistler Mountain.

Friday, April 1 –Kokanee Freeride Apres. Merlins. Come and enjoy a Kokanee at the infamous Kokanee après series. Local legends hairfarmers play as you drink. Sounds good to me

Friday, April 1–Payday Fridays. Moe Joe’s. Thank God it’s Friday and thank god that you get to spend the night with DJ Praiz. DJ Praiz is really good. Don’t believe me? Okay then ignore that he opened for almost every medal ceremony during that event…oh yeah The Olympics. DJ Praiz will make you feel good, all over. And if you ask he will give you a shout out, maybe even a pro call out.

Saturday, April 2 –Rossignol 2012 Demo Day. Whistler Mountain. Visit the Rossignol tent outside the Whistler Demo Center to try next year’s Rossignol skis. Reps will be on hand to help you find the perfect ski for 2012.

Saturday, April 2 –Vince Vaccaro with Hellbound Hepcats and Head of the Herd. Merlin’s. 9pm. This Victoria bases musician plays a stripped down acoustic set on the last stop of his mountain tour. Vaccaro’s music has evolved from Tom Petty-esque rock to hazy hippy jams of today… He is Supported by Montreal Rockabilly trio Hellbound Hepcats and the Vancouver Island rock outfit Head of the Herd.

Vince plays at Merlin’s rather than a club and says, “I have nothing against clubs, I have played them and I will play them, it’s just that what I’m doing isn’t necessarily suited for that kind of audience right now”. Check out Vince Vaccaro’s website HERE and enjoy the show.

Monday, April 4 –Madhatter Monday Teapot Party. Village Lounge & Nightclub. 9:30pm. Thrown by the lovely Kelly Hitchcock “Miss Whistler 2011”. Cool teapots for cocktails, smooth house and electro music + weekly guest DJs.

Tuesday, April 5 –Pink Taco Party. GLC. 8pm. What do Pink and Taco have in common? Two things.. One is ladies only party happing on Tuesday. The other is not appropriate to write on a public blog. However, both the good and the bad definitions will be united at the Pink Taco Party. So ladies pop on your pinkest pink (that you can eat a taco in), no seriously tacos are served till 11.
