Rockreation is the OG of climbing gyms in SLC. It is not as new and shiny as the new Momentum gym in Sandy. But what it lacks in size and length it makes up for in charm, just like you;)
The toprope area is kinda small, but the routes there are spicy for the grades and leave you feeling worked after a few tries. Rockreations lead area is generally less crowded that that of Momentum, but since it is only about 1/8th of the size it can feel cramped. Don’t get me wrong, I really like the vibe at Rockreation and think that their routes are often more interesting than those at the other gyms in SLC.
Bouldering clearly does a body good. If you wanna look like this little cutie get on the rock ASAP! The bouldering area at Rockreation is its shining star in my opinion. They have a ton of problems ranging from V0 to V12ish. I feel that their boulder problems are also more interesting and generally stiffer than those of the competition. The multiple cave zones will get your arms pumping like crazy in no time. Get yourself ready for climbing season by dropping into the Rockreation sometime before the snow melts.
