NOAA Forecast for 10,000 feet.

After this past weeks awesome storm, we are looking at mostly warm, sunny days ahead with a slight chance of snow Saturday into Sunday. Spring may be here. Look for some sweet music this week with some classic Roots-Reggae tonight and Mike Gordon tomorrow night at the Sheridan. Don’t forget about Appetite For Destruction as well tomorrow night, this will be a heavy hitting, cheaper alternative to Mike Gordon. Fun times for sure, have a blast in the sun this week. Wear that SPF!

Friday, Mar. 11 – The Itals @ The Llama. $10. Doors at 9pm. The Itals should go on around 10:30pm, with opening act Walter St. Clair Trio warming up for them. These guys are Reggae legends that have been performing since the mid-70’s. Their debut single, “In A Disya Time”, is regarded as the group’s finest work, and topped the Jamaican charts. Also, in 1987 their album Rasta Philosophy was nominated for a Grammy. They have changed line-ups over the years but still put on an entertaining show. Check out their MySpace for more info.

Saturday, Mar. 12 – Mike Gordon @ The Sheridan Opera House. Doors @ 8:30pm. $37 for GA tickets. Burlington, Vermont’s own tripped-out bassist from Phish will be coming back to Telluride, this time with his backing band in support of his new solo album, MOSS. I am sure this show will sell out, if it has not already. Get on it ASAP if you have not done so already. Mike-Gordon.com

Tuesday, Mar. 15 – EOTO ft. Michael Travis and Jason Hann of String Cheese Incident @ The Llama. $15 advance, $17 at the door. 10:30pm. The following is taken from their website, “Throbbing bass and thudding beats are the signatures of this project from drummers Michael Travis and Jason Hann.  Born out of their shared love of electronic dance music, EOTO’s M.O. is to take the free-wheeling party vibe of a DJ set to the next level by using organic instruments, innovative performance technology, and uncharted musical exploration.  Live drums, guitars, and keys, and vocals are mixed, remixed, and sampled on the fly using cutting-edge programs.  This is all done without a script, and without a net.” EOTOmusic.org

Wednesday, Mar. 16 – Oscar Winning Documentary – “Inside Job” @ The Palm Theater. 6pm. $8 for adults. “From filmmaker Charles Ferguson comes this sobering, Oscar-winning documentary that presents in comprehensive yet cogent detail the pervasive and deep-rooted corruption that led to the global economic meltdown of 2008. Through unflinching interviews with key financial insiders, politicos, journalists and academics, Ferguson paints a galling portrait of an unfettered financial system run amok — without accountability. Actor Matt Damon narrates.” TelluridePalm.com
