As always there is loads of good music in SLC this week. My two picks are the big Dubstep techno show tonight at the Complex and Stacy Clark at Kilby Court Sunday night. There is also a sweet award winning movie with a lesbian scene playing in PC. Another option is a funny play about rednecks, or……go skiing cuz its gonna snow mang.
Saturday March 5th –Excision, Downlink, Antiserum, Lloom @ The Complex @ 7:00
This is a crappy video as far as image goes, but the music is dope. If you are into electronic or Dubstep kinda tunes this will make your weekend. Check out: http://www.myspace.com/downlinkdub for some Downlink samples. I am becoming a fan.
Sunday March 6th – Stacy Clark @ Kilby Court @ 7:00pm
Stacy has the voice of an angel and hails from good old Buffalo, NY. Check out this song if you don’t believe me. Kilby Court is a rad little venue if you can find it. It is located down an alleyway attached to a house. Go check this one out.
Sunday March 6th – Park City Film Series: Black Swan @ Jim Santy Auditorium @ 6:00pm and 8:00pm – Tix: $7
Who doesn’t think Natalie Portman is hot. Girls think she is just as hot as guys do. I hear Black Swan has a really wild lesbian sex scene, so who wouldn’t want to see that in a theater with a couple hundred strangers…
Monday March 7th-April 23rd – Beverly Hillbillies 90210: You Might be a Redneck if… @ Desert Star Theatre @ Mon.-Thurs. 7 p.m.; Fri. 6 & 8:30 p.m.; Sat. 11:30, 2:30, 6 & 8:30 p.m.
Who doesn’t enjoy laughing at our less literate friends the Rednecks. This show was cancelled last year and apparently people were pissed. Now it is back in full effect starting on monday so come check it out.
Tuesday March 8th – A Hawk and A Hacksaw @ Urban Lounge @ 9:00pm – Tix: $10
Some pretty interesting music using some instruments you don’t always hear. The guys voice is a little suspect, but the people watching should be epic at this one.
