February 23nd started off sunny and ended cold and cloudy. The early morning sun prompted Austin Ross and I to head out and ski a line off of Spearhead peak. We hoped the snow was still somewhat cherry because the snow in bounds however was hard pack and lame. With the cold temperatures and extreme wind tonight expect to find some deep pockets in the backcountry as well as lots of loading. Although the avalanche advisory is Considerable if something gives… it’s going to slide big. So be careful when outside the resort.
