The 26th Annual Legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom

The 26th Annual Legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom went down in the natural halfpipe at Mt. Baker the 11th through 13th of February.  Legends and pros were in attendance: Tom Burt, Temple Cummins, Terje Haakonsen, Blair Habenicht, Lucas Debari, Josh Dirksen, Danny Davis, and Stephen Maurer to name a few.  The course was firm and icy the first qualification day, but with snow and wind moving in on Saturday, unqualified riders were forced to race down hill into windy white-outs.  The weather cleared for Sunday’s finals, and the course was fast.  Flawless runs were required to win, and this year’s winner was 17 year old Harry Kearny, becoming the youngest LBS winner in the 26 years of the event.
