This weekend there are a bunch of cool things going on in SLC. Tons of good music and good comedy all over town. Here is a little sampling for you, but check the City Weekly for more info. Also, the 12 Hours of Snowbird is going on down this tonight if you want to hang out in the dark and cheer for people skiing less than full speed all night.
Feb. 18th – 12 Hours of Snowbird @ Snowbird
The 12 hours of Snowbird starts at 5:00pm today with a pre-party at the Forklift. The contest will then start at 7:00pm and racers will ski Gadzoom until midnight followed by riding Peruvian chair from 12:00am until 7:00am. The most laps wins. There is unfortunately one catch…there is a speed limit of 40MPH. How will you know if you are breaking it? You will not until you reach the bottom and you are told by someone checking your speed via GPS. I am kinda bummed that they added this rule. It takes all the fun out of the event for a competitive person like myself. Should be an awesome time anyway. Good luck to all the racers!
Friday Feb. 18th – Feb. 20th – Salt Lake City International Tattoo Convention @ The Salt Palace
Are you all tatted up? Do you want to get all tatted up? Are you just interested in tats? Well get your ass down to the Salt Palace this weekend for the Salt Lake International Tattoo Convention. I am not sure what makes it international, but I am sure you can tell me after you go.
Feb. 18th and Feb 19th – Dante @ Wise Guys Comedy Cafe @ 7:00pm and 9:00pm
Dante is a super duper funny guy and he is actually playing here in SLC tonight. He won the Last Comic Standing and is now touring the country making people like you and I laugh.
Saturday Feb. 19th – Wasnatch @ Fats Grill @ 9:00pm
These guys seem to be more funny than they are musically talented, but I like the venue so I am suggesting this for a good way to kick off your Saturday night. Fats is a rad pool hall with good beer and some solid food.
Saturday Feb. 19th – Less Than Jake @ The Complex @ 7:00pm
One of my favorite punk bands from high school is in town this weekend. It sounds like they have softened it up a bit, but I can still give it a strong recommendo.
