Today was a beautiful day in Telluride with sunshine, cool air, and plenty of soft snow from the recent storm. Getting out there early, it was pretty damn cold with temps hovering around zero, but it felt good. The crowds were minimal and the snow was still pretty fresh in spots. After some fun runs through Sully’s Gully, Buzz’s Glade, and Andy’s Gold/Little Rose, we decided to hit up Baldy. It was a perfect day to hike and the views up there are beautiful. The 360 degree panorama from the summit of Baldy is awesome and almost worth the hike alone. The powder was still pretty fresh up there with the run short but very sweet. These turns were definitely worth the quick hike! After Baldy, we did some laps through Black Iron Bowl and hit up some fun drops and jumps in the lower trees. This is an awesome zone with lots of fun natural features and sweet lines. The snow was great out there today and allowed for us to hit some features that we had scoped out recently. It certainly turned out to be a special day in Telluride! Looking forward to more sunshine and warmer temps tomorrow.
