It all started off so mellow today. I decided to go up to Alta to ski a few runs solo and check out some old favorites. The snow was fast, but kinda bumpy like always at Alta. The hippies turn way too much up there.  There was some killer snow in the Chocolate Salty Line and in Wildcat. By noon it was time for a bigger hill with less bumps, so I was Snowbird bound. Thats when it got crazy…

I love the Snowbird family. Whenever we get together (most days) members new and old get each other all fired up and fun things tend to happen. By the second tram lap of the day the group was already growing we had: out of towners, aussies, young fellas, old dogs and even a couple girls out getting rowdy together. The Forbidden Zone got torn a new one by Joe Augusten, Jake Neerings, Deane Southworth, Mike Marantz, Duggie, Alan and myself. A few snowboard fellas got in the mix by stomping some steezy cliffs as well.

By late day the winds were picking up and the tram went down at about 3:30. The gropple started pounding and Silver Fox was fully re-buffed in ten minutes. Tomorrow is going to be a great day. I just hope that it does not snow too much so everyone calls in sick and it is a mad house tomorrow.
