The big story this week is the approaching storm. While this thing will probably miss us and drop only a couple inches, we may luck out and get our first real storm of the season. Who knows this year though. I will be happy with anything I guess. There is some good music to catch this week, the best being Grace Potter & The Nocturnals on Thursday if you got tickets already. This show is sold out. Last but not least, America’s favorite sporting event happens on Sunday. Good luck if your team is still playing.

Friday, Feb. 4 – Thursday, Feb. 10 -“True Grit” @ The Nugget all week. Playing at 5 & 7:30. The Coen brothers remake of the 1969 John Wayne Western FINALLY is playing in Telluride. I have been excited to check this film out since I first heard about it. Starring Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, and Hailee Steinfeld in her first major film. Should be a great film! Saturday, Feb. 5 – Chocolate Lover’s Fling @ The Telluride Conference Center. 7:30-11:30 pm. $50. Celebrating it’s 16th year, this annual event is a benefit for the San Miguel Resource Center. This years theme is Heroes and Villains with cash prizes for best dressed along with a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, music by DJ Harry, and chocolate desserts from local chefs. Thursday, Feb. 10 – Grace Potter & The Nocturnals @ The Sheridan Opera House. 8pm. SOLD OUT! Vermont’s own “classic” rockers return to Telluride playing the Sheridan Opera.
