The idea was to go get a couple mellow turns for the Christmas holiday, but it ended up being a pretty ripping day out there. With the inversion setting up in the valley we knew it would be a warm sunny one. What we didn’t expect was great snow. We were way off.

After catching a ride up with Eric and Dylan Bishop-Berry and parking on a half empty bypass road I ran into Matt Carter. Since I am on this new kick of riding with snowboarders I decided to follow Matt around for the morning. We found untracked snow in Tiger Tail and really great re-cream wind buff on North Baldy.

The really surprising thing was the lack of crowds.  Walk on trams and skiing right onto the chair was the deal all day.I guess most people were doing the family and presents thing, or maybe they were all just hungover. Sunscreen was needed today for the first time in a long while. It did get a little chilly late because of the wind, but the wind was our friend today so it was all good. There is a little storm action heading our way. Stay tuned for more pow!
