I ran into Robyn one of Squaw Valley’s finest patrollers who had also flown down for the contest. We both took shot gun even though the guys had advised against us doing so because of how sketchy the drive was. We both feared our motion sickness more than the ride.

After two collisions with birds, some cows, multiple close calls with on coming trucks and 39 curves we had made our way to El Colorado!

The North Face was so great that they had hooked myself and the other North Face athletes up with an amazing place to stay in Fallerones, the town just outside of El Colorado. The views were amazing from our front deck! And my fellow team mates from the North Face are all so awesome to room with! It made for a great time in Chile. Just across the road from us was the K2 house were the snowboard team had just flown in after the ski team and fellow blaster JT Holmes had made their ways back home.

Santiago’s smog problem makes for great sunsets up here!

Snow levels in Chile were a lot lower than I had hoped. The TNF crew and myself all headed out to check out the venue at El Colorado. The snow was surprisingly good on the venue compared to the rest of the resort. Even though it was not ideal I was still able to find a sweet line for the comp.

Chuck was getting ready to scope out a line…

Unfortunately for myself my day one run did not end well. I had uncovered a rock after a 30-35 ft cliff and that resulted in losing both of my skis. Oh well, I guess you can’t win them all. I was also proud of my fellow team mate Jacqui Edgerly who also made a great run but fell into some bad luck in the end also. It was so great to see another girl pushing the field. I hope she keeps it up cause I have a feeling we will see some great things to come out of her!

The rest of the team however all layed down great runs and qualified for day 2 of the comp! I was really excited for Griffin Post who layed down a great run and was in first after day 1.

As some of you may know by now it was Jess Mcmillan and Drew Stecklein who impressed the crowd with some great runs and walked away with the win! Proud of you guys! Especially Drew who won his first title of the Freeskiing World Tour!
