Weekend Weather outlook from tahoeloco.com
Independence Day Weekend should be a pleasant one in Tahoe, with temperatures climbing again but not as hot as they were last weekend.
A trough of low pressure off the Pacific Coast will keep high temperatures a little below normal today and Friday, with afternoon winds approaching 25 mph to 30 mph around the Tahoe Basin and stronger at the Sierra Crest. A warming trend is due just in time for the holiday weekend.
The upper level trough is forecast to move east on Friday as a ridge of high pressure fills in behind it. That will move temperatures up several degrees Saturday and Sunday, with highs moving back into the 80s along the Lake and the 70s at the higher elevations. Winds should subside by Saturday.
Moisture off the Pacific early next week looks to increase the threat of Sierra thunderstorms by Tuesday or Wednesday.
