Its easy to see why Crested Butte is the birthplace of "Extreme Skiing" comps,….plenty of gnar everwhere. The snow is slightly better than Telluride, I think that the snow may be slightly more dense and less rotten. But, it is still very low tide here and you have to tip tow around everywhere.
My qualifier run went well for me. I picked a more technical line with many steep jump turns and only a few small airs. I made some quality turns and had no bobbles at all. The highlight was a "mini triple" in the Little Hourglass area.
PS I blew it on the helmet cam, I totally forgot to turn it on at the start on my run, opps.
