I had a great weekend coaching!  Our first Big Mountain competition for the entire SV squad was Sunday and the kids threw down!  Epic runs, epic crashes, a big crew of supportive spectators, high spirits, and solid skiing made for an awesome day!

Our group ran last, around 2pm, which gave us some time to get a few warm-up runs in beforehand on KT and Headwall. Making our way into Light Towers, the team came across a sweet straightline with some rock to clear in the middle. A perfect test of focus and a maybe a good way to shake some of the nerves before competition time. Here is Nicole Persons, age 14, dropping in as the team watches from below.

The Big Mountain Team's next competition is scheduled for this Sunday, February 7th, and will be held at Squaw on Enchanted Forest/ Snag Cliffs.  This is stop #2 of the North Tahoe Junior Big Mountain Invitational series.  Teams from Squaw, Sugarbowl, Alpine Meadows, and Auburn Ski Club will each send their top 10 boys and 5 girls.  Come out Sunday to cheer on Squaw!
