The act of “getting shots,” in action sports photography and cinematography refers to a photographer or filmer capturing (on film) an athlete executing a maneuver, with the hope that the image is usable for print or for a video. It takes a solid execution on both the athlete and the filmer or photographer. I talked to filmer Chris Edmands and photographer Adam Clark about what a good shot is to them, and what some of the challenges are to them.
